Hot and Spicy!
The client was promoting 3 new hot and spicy sandwiches and the discussion turned to possibly having a graphic fire background. I suggested maybe we can have a real live fire as a background. Can you do that? Why not? Here is a GIF of the results. What's better than playing with fire on a photo shoot... and we didn't burn down the studio!

moreReady for Halloween?
Who doesn't love Halloween? Here is a shot from a shoot a couple years ago in North Carolina. We were shooting at a house that had an old graveyard right next door. The CD was into old graveyards as am I so went over and took a couple of shots before we got started. What is that old saying? Whistling past the grave yard?
moreNew Clubs!!
Finally some new irons!! Needed a change since the old ones were 12 years old. New means better, right? I had to photograph them before I dug them into the ground and scratched them up. So now, are they are going to be "good" clubs or "bad" clubs?
moreHappy 4th of July!
Here is a shot from a shoot in the Florida keys (The Moorings in Islamorada) a while back. This is really a special place to shoot or to take a low key (pardon the pun) vacation. Nice cottages, your own beach, and great seafood and sunsets close by. While I was waiting for some merchandise to be prepped for a shot, one of the models walked out on the dock. As beautiful as it looks in the shot, there was a cold wind blowing. She was obviously cold, so she wrapped one of the blankets around herself. I converted to B&W but left "Old Glory" in red, white and blue. Ohh say can you see...
moreRamen bowl
Going to Chicago later this month for a job and was looking at some iphone picts from last year's trip for the same job. This was the best Ramen bowl!! Pork cheek, greens, scallions and peppers. So good... I think I had it 3 times in a week!

moreFaux Saveur Cover
Was looking at a shot I did with food stylist Kimberly Tabor and prop stylist Peggy Jordao who I love to work with and was wondering what I could do to "dress it up" a bit. Hey, why not put it on the cover of Saveur? I love the magazine and one of these days...
moreHeirloom tomatoes
This is the first year in a while I didn't grow any tomatoes. I have been growing heirlooms for a few years in the winter season which is the only time you can grow them in South Florida. The plants should be big by now with green tomatoes. Here is a shot of last year's harvest. Next winter for sure!
moreSuperfly
I was outside testing the autofocus of a 60mm macro lens and saw a few of these jewel toned Long legged flies. They are only about 1/4 Inch long and it took a few tries to capture because they would fly away when I got close. They are called flies after all. These are very beneficial insects as they remove plant harming insects such as aphids, mites etc. One might say a Superfly! Come on... Click on the link!
